Privacy Policy

Summary

Poker Broker is a non-custodial mobile app that helps groups of friends track buy-ins, rebuys, and cashouts at home poker games and settle up afterward via third-party payment apps. We collect the minimum data needed to run the app and give you useful stats. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads that profile you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

  • Account information. Email address, chosen username, and password (stored hashed, never in plaintext).
  • Game data. Games you create or join, buy-ins, rebuys, cashouts, witness confirmations, and settlement records. This is what makes the app work.
  • Social graph. Your friend connections and head-to-head records with other users who've shared at least one game with you.
  • Device information. Device model, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier used to deliver push notifications.
  • Usage analytics. Actions you take inside the app (e.g., creating a game, joining a game, sending a settlement) — collected through PostHog to help us understand feature usage and improve the product.
  • Crash reports. Technical details about crashes and errors — collected through Sentry to help us diagnose and fix bugs.

We do not collect: your location, your contacts, your photos, your financial account details, or payment card numbers. Payments happen outside the app in Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App.

How we use your data

  • To operate the app and provide core features (game tracking, settlement math, social stats).
  • To authenticate you and secure your account.
  • To send you push notifications about games you're in (e.g., witness confirmation requests, game start).
  • To analyze aggregate usage patterns and fix bugs.
  • To contact you about service changes, security issues, or, if you opt in, product updates.

Service providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and real-time messaging infrastructure.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notification delivery on Android.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — push notification delivery on iOS.
  • PostHog — product analytics.
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting.
  • Cloudflare — hosting this website.

Data retention

We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g., tax or legal compliance, fraud prevention) or where it is aggregated and no longer identifies you.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Passwords are hashed. Row-level security policies restrict who can read what data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access the data we hold about you by emailing us.
  • Correct any inaccurate information directly in the app or by emailing us.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data from the app settings, or by emailing us.
  • Export your game history by emailing us.
  • Opt out of analytics by emailing us (core service data cannot be opted out of — it's required to run the app).

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Children's privacy

Poker Broker is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.

International users

Poker Broker is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., your data will be processed in the United States and may be subject to U.S. laws, which may differ from the laws of your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy over time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made.
